Poorly Tree

Hi
Does anyone know the name of this tree? It has been shedding a lot of it's branches and I am quite worried about it because I really like it. Either the name or some advice would be fantastic.

It looks a lot like the one in the front garden of our apartment. Check out this thread. Can't help you with what to do about it though, sorry.

We inherited one of these trees last year when we moved to Quesada and it too was shedding heavily. However, we have watered it regularly and it's in great condition now. Don't know the name of it, but we refer to it as the upside down tree because the branches grow in the opposite direction to most trees.
