As for the euro rate. It's fairly common for it to be crap this time of year. It does seem to go down in the summer months just in time for peoples holiday and creeps up in August onwards (although not always). There are many factors having a negative effect on the rate and these include the buffoons handling the brexit negotiations. Seemingly after every negative press headline towards brexit, the rate 'tumbles'. Another factor is the ECB propping up the eurozone buying junk bonds and quantitative easing.

As it stands the pound is under valued and i would guess that the rate is bound to get better when changing £'s. When that will be is anybody's guess.

AT THIS MOMENT IN TIME. Irrespective of yearly fluctuations. The pound vs the Euro is very low because of ONE THING ONLY. ‘BREXIT’. There can be no doubt about this.

I know the pound has been low in the past as other posters show...

But usually the lows they quote were blips... I can´t ever remember the drop lasting so long... it has been this low, constantly since the vote to leave... and we have not left yet, I fear there are more drops to come... :cry:

The above post about sums up this farcical Brexit.

It’s pretty clear, even to a layman - I’m not, I worked in the markets as a bond trader - that the markets are saying Brexit is not a good idea.

If a sensible ‘soft’ Brexit is achieved, then expect sterling to improve. If a hard Brexit is forthcoming, it will disappear up its own fundament.

Apart from the first post(marjim) this page (4) has been one of the most sensible. And relating to pete31. You’re correct, Not only is the ECB propping up the Euro, Mark Carney hasn’t got a clue. Every time he speaks the pounds loses any gains with his wrong predictions regarding U.K. he knows that whatever he says will affect the pound one way or t’other, therefore I believe that he is keeping the pound artificially low. He NEVER “Bulls it up”.
Anyway, that’s my twopence worth. :text-thankyouyellow:
