Pound at 8 month low against the Euro

Come on get a grip of reality. 2008 was the time when the whole world was in recession, that is why the pound(and other currencies) dipped very low. In the months preceding Brexit( December 2015) it was close to 1.40. Closer to brexit(due to Brexit uncertainty) it was close to 1.3. We all know(but some refuse to accept) the current exchange rate is purely due to the decision to leave the Eu.

TerryG. Are you actually saying the the levels of pound to euros is not directly linked to the U.K. leaving the Eu?

You could argue that the world hasn't really fully recovered from 2008 but that's another conversation. We all know that the Brexit uncertainty and the division is holding the value of the pound back. Also the reluctance of the BOE to raise rates is also having an effect (which may change in August as the newly released construction data is positive). The point is try and chill and don't fret about it so much as it's out of our hands.

No I`m not .. of course it is. I`ve never said anything different and I don`t think there will be any significant change until next March.

What that change will be is anyone`s guess but hopefully it will be better news for residents here.

But whatever happens we still have to get on with our lives and whinging and whining about it won`t change things one iota.

It's what we're seeing happening.
Not some fantasy possibly happening at some date which may well change yet in the future .

Yep, me again. Apparently the Electoral Commission has found that the ‘vote leave’ campaign broke the rules. Does this mean that they are disqualified and the first two placing are reversed, like with the horses?
