Bee is perfectly right. What satisfaction do you get from upsetting people. The person who posted the question was asking a question. I presume that person , like most of us would very much like to see their loved ones over the festive season. For the person who suggested a 14 day quarantine at a great cost, not necessary at all. In England, you may stay with your family while quarantining. The family members may continue on with their lives both coming and going while you remain in the house for the required period of time.
To all of those people who plan to travel to visit their loved ones, have a wonderful time and enjoy every minute of it. I would be going if I were you.
Honestly, please stop these cruel and unnecessary remarks which only cause hurt and pain. We have enough on our plates at the moment without people we don’t know being horrible and in some cases clearly furious because someone else is doing exactly what they would like to be doing and can’t for one reason it another. Happy Christmas. Remember, GOOD WILL TO ALL MEN ( and Women too!)

I agree each has a personal reason. But essential travel only a trip either way for visit is not essential.. remember u need a pcr negative test to return back to Spain.. not that many places doing them in uk..cheapest i have seen is 115 pounds each but less tgan 72hrs old. Alot companies cant guarantee results in this time frame.. try enjoy whatever u do stay safe..

Unbelievable, if you understand the meaning of quarantine then until you are clear anyone in the house should also isolate, otherwise no point in quarantine!!

Please tell me you have made a mistake with this post. You can't be serious when you say:
" In England, you may stay with your family while quarantining. The family members may continue on with their lives both coming and going while you remain in the house for the required period of time."

Really!!! so if you unfortunately do develop Covid, you stay indoors and let the rest of your family members who have been in CONTACT with you continue with their lives potentially infecting everybody they meet on your behalf. No wonder this is spreading.

I am shocked at such a careless attitude to other peoples wellbeing.

Exactly good post, some people again read what they want to justify their own actions.

I strongly agree with Lindylou's comments but I would go even further by adding that people like you Mac3blade are totally irresponsible on this subject hence why we are in the situation we are today.

I personally wouldn’t go to the U.K. and stay with my family in case I had COVID and passed it on or they had it and passed it on to me. However Mac3blade is correct in saying any family you stay with do not have to Quarantine but you should stay 2 meters apart have your own room and follow the usual hygiene measures. If anyone develops symptoms in the home they then have to self isolate for 14 days. This is on the GOV.U.K. site. I’m not saying it’s right but that’s what it states. Or am I reading it wrongly?
