Private PCR covid tests

Private PCR covid tests

Postby Goodangel » Sat Nov 21, 2020 3:51 pm

Good Afternoon

I would like to know if anyone can tell me where we can get a PCR covid test done privately. Where we can go & the cost would be great.

We are going back to the UK for Christmas & want to make sure we haven’t got the virus before we travel. Just to clarify we are certain that we don’t have it. We wouldn’t want to pass it on to anyone here, on the plane or especially our family.

Thank you in advance for your help

They aren't full PCR tests, they are rapid antigen or rapid antibody tests and wouldn't be acceptable for coming in to Spain.
Quiron hospital and IMed do them but the cost is €125 at Quiron and €120 at IMed.
Results take 24 to 48 hours.

As the PCR test is not necessary for UK, the rapid antibody or antigen tests could at least set your mind at rest.
La Siesta clinic was doing a special offer of €30. They also do the full PCR test at €120.

The government has agreed that trained pharmacists will be able to carry out the rapid tests but won't be allowed to carry out full PCR tests.

Hi just to clarify re testing - the cheaper and faster tests are not PCR and not reliable as they frequently give a false negative result.
IMED in Torrevieja - near Habaneras shopping centre - provide a private PCR test at a cost of €120. Results by email in less than 24 hours. The test can be booked ahead online.
Best of luck

I cannt believe you can get a flight. We have had six flights cancelled this year for UK and Holland , we have a son in each country. We havent seen our famiky since February and wouldnt dream of flting over in these precarious times anyway. Why woukd you even consider it even for a test of which I have had three as it is compulsory if you have hospital appointments whatever thecreason

Thank you everyone for your messages. We know where we can go & get a test now. We appreciate you help & comments

BABSIE- If your not going to say anything that is helpful. Please do not put your comments on posts that have nothing to do with you.

We have got a flight & it hasn’t been cancelled as yet. We haven’t seen our family since February either. We would not put them at risk. As long as you follow the rules & take precautions you will be fine. I am guessing that you go to the supermarket? Well that is the where you are most likely pick up the virus more than any other place. Please mind your own business. If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all!!!

No I don’t. that’s why I’m having a test before I fly.

Just to clarify - You said your fights were cancelled so you probably would have gone if they had been flying?? If that’s the case you are a hypocrite!!!

We will be having a test before we go. One when we get there & one before we come back. Not that it is any of your business in any case.
