Quesada High street.

It's just the bit from the roundabout to the arches that is affected at the moment. The rest of the "High" Street is open and you can get at it from the other side, just not able to enter from the arches bit whilst concrete mixers are going in and out of the new Mas y Mas.

At least when you park nose to tail, the risk of idiots in battered ,old wrecks, smashing their car door into yours and driving off without a care in the world should diminish. The hire car companies won't be happy as they will lose the 450 euros they charge the hirer ,for not actually repairing the damage.

It seems that all the informed comment about the High Street revamp having commenced, was not so informed after all.
Sometimes the rumour mill here in Quesada makes me chuckle. So many know alls. :D :D

Information about the facelift was also published in the Costa News:
https://www.costa-news.com/costa-blanca ... -underway/
Evidence would seem to suggest it will be taking place.

Of course it is going to happen but it doesn´t mean it´s started just because a cement lorry passes under the arches.:D

Might as well not have the Arches now anyway...the view is now dominated by the horrific eyesore that is Mas y Mas.

The place is, unfortunately, a mess.

Looking at the photo in Russ's link I agree. It would have been so much better to have a car park there with some palm trees, grass and benches. Would have created a much better first impression of the town and given some much-needed parking at the bottom end of the high street.

Oh well..... :(

TBH, it's always looked a bit of a mess there. When we were looking to buy some 10 years ago and move from Villamartin, we turned up at the area by the arches, saw the tatty commercial bit up by Don De, the waste ground at the entrance and turned around to look somewhere else.
We hadn't realised the rest of it was there but didn't exactly get a good first impression of the place.
Couple of years later we found the other bits and so glad we did.
And the bit of work under the arches was hardly just a cement truck. The roads have been dug up quite extensively and relaid but not exactly in a very good way. Hope they do a bit more to it once it's settled.

I thought the business owners affected were informed about the work starting just after Christmas.
