Has anyone else received there suma bill for the bins. It's gone sky high.

You're in Torrevieja which has just shown the increase. We had our big rises 2 years ago but Torrevieja continued to subsidise the tax and are no longer allowed to do so under a EU ruling stating the user must realise how much it actually costs to collect the waste.

In Rojales we all pay the same amount whereas in Torrevieja it depends on what area you are in.

Orihuela Costa has had an even bigger rise in their bin collection tax.
Ours rose to 126.69 a year payable in one go.
Orihuela rose to 55 cents a day which is just over 200 euro a year.
Torrevieja areas (I think collected in 2 halves during the year)are now
Los Balcones 131.88
Central areas 80.42
Los Altos 131.86
Aguas Nuevas 111.86
La Mata 111.86
La Manguilla 81.62
El Hondo 109.14
La Siesta 125.28
Pozo Dulce 101.50
South urban areas 106,26

For further info :-
Algorfa 48€ payable twice yearly.
Almoradi 73.12€ payable twice yearly.
This year is first time Almoradi have levied this charge.

We're under Orihuela and ours as gone up from 28.00 a year to 220.00 year spilt in two payments

Are you sure this is for the rubbish, that bill comes out in late spring, the invoice you have is probably for your house(council tax) which is due in October

Janet1 shows location as Torrevieja. As stated, they pay the bin tax in two payments, one in Spring as you said but one along with their IBI bill at this time of year.

I just got my Suma, payable in October or before if you wish,€ 221.58 that was definitely council tax for 2025, I paid the bins earlier this year.
As I have sold my villa and it finalises next week, I paid it on Thursday 3 days ago, not wanting the lovely people who bought my villa footing the bill….., but I could not find the reference so I called Rojales Suma office and they helped me and also explained what the Suma bill was for. So it got paid.
Personally even though I have had enough of Spain, I think €179.80 bins and €221.58 council tax a Total €401.38 a year is peanuts compared to the UK.
