Hi
This has probably been mentioned countless times but does anyone know how much it would be to register my UK car in Spain.
Thanks
Steve

Yes it has!
The answer is, it depends.

The import duty (if you need to pay it) is based on the book value of the vehicle. The road tax is also dependent on the emissions rating of the vehicle.

and he’ll give you a quote.

Bear in mind though that nobody in Spain wants. RHD Spanish registered vehicle, so it’s resale value here will be zero.

I wouldn't take too much notice of that. There's plenty of right hand drive registered vehicles sold here and plenty of people want them. They tend to be a lot cheaper than left hand drive ones but people will still pay more than what they're worth in the uk. There's a car lot on the lemon tree road that specialises in cheapish RHD Spanish registered cars. Not everyone has a fortune to pay out the ridiculous prices that Spanish cars command.

There's a sliding scale of import duty/tax depending on the age of your vehicle. After 12 years of age it's down to 10% of the new sale price in Spain. Then it's a percentage of that amount depending on the emissions.

Hi Steve & Jackie

Just read your Car Registration problem. We brought our Car from France to Spain and registered here just a few months ago. After trying to Register it in Elche but failed to understand what documents needs to be done. However we then found a Company in "Los Montesinos" name... Orke Servicios who completed our registration in about 2 weeks without any problem at a cost of Euro 750. They Speak very good English, Here are their Names & Contact Numbers: David Kean:+34 615 624 471 andFrancisco Oramas:+34 670 814 581 |Teléfono Oficina:+34 966 721 935.

We wish you the Best... Monty
