Registering a uk car to Spanish plates

Anyone know how much to register a uk car to Spanish plates messaged a few peoples recommendations on this site but no one has had the decency to reply many thanks

We were going to buy an English reg car, but told change of number plates and lights would be over 1,500 euro.

The registration process itself is around 500, but that does not include VAT and registration tax, which depends on the age, economic value and emissions of the individual car.

Costs have increased since Brexit (taxes) and it will also depend on whether your headlights need replacing (ours did) and whether your fog lights need rewiring (ours did). The company above comes highly recommended and we were very pleased with the service from Leigh.

EDIT...cost was around 1400 euro total and was accurately quoted. Car was a large SUV (2005) and valuation was very low and I could prove that the car was in Spain prior to 2021.

Must agree with the previous post, Leigh is sorting out my UK Reg Motorhome Transfer, and has been absolutely brilliant, I had a couple of issues with paperwork / specifications, and he knows the system & the people, and gets it all sorted quickly, and most importantly, Legally & Correct, Top Bloke

We are thinking of bringing our UK car over to register on Spanish plates. I popped into the Tiv-Control office opposite ITV station in Torrevieja. They need ALL the car details (log book) before they can give a price therefore I need to send them this on email ([email protected]) when I go back to the UK so they can work it out, so many different factors. They did say much more expensive now since Brexit, should of done it before They spoke perfect English and very helpful.
