willemite wrote:Good morning A few questions, regarding the request for new Residencia card.
1) The form on line, do you complete it on line or print it off ? .
2) do you take both forms to local police or civil police ?
3) then do you pay the 12e

I’ve everything written out as a guide and just want to double check these points, before we complete everything.

We are not fluent in Spanish just wondered if we need to take our translator with us. Thank you

You print the forms off, they can't be done on line.
You take the 790 012 to the bank, pay the 12 euro and get a receipt.
You don't take any forms to the police.
You get an appointment with the foreigners office at Alicante. When you attend the appointment you take the EX form you have completed and the receipt from the bank for the payment.

The new department at the foreigners' office in Alicante has been especially set up to deal with British people either applying for residency or for exchanging the registro card. It is a lot more English friendly than it was when we got ours some 12 years ago at Elche National Police station.

True Elche Dave. But then rules have changed much in last couple of years.

Lots of stuff in Spain went through on the nod 10 years ago and rules didn't change 3 or 4 times a year.

Being smug doesn't help those who are now trying to sort stuff.

Jonnno,
I believe you have your posters mixed up a little, we certainly didn't get through "on the nod" 12 years ago, i never said that & i am certainly not being "smug" We had a hell of a job just changing our address just 3 years ago, the Policia National in Elche wanted far more info etc than when we originally obtained our Residencia 12 years ago which believe me wasn't easy,3 visits to the National Police in Elche & each time they wanted more. That is the sole reason we exchanged our green cards for the TIE as soon as we could, whilst the regs are still a little "slack"
Regards,
Dave.

Not me!....Still trying. I think the appointment system is getting bogged down with people renewing their existing residency cards.
