Residencia update.

Postby andywyatt » Thu Jul 02, 2020 3:49 pm

Residencia. update.Its now offical. The residencia is now stopped or is stopping all across spain. as they are now updating the systems to the T.I.E. system "Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero or Foreigner's Identity card" all conditions will be the same as before but most areas will take another week or 2 to update their systems. Some have done it now but others will take upto 2 weeks to reopen.I knew about this last week but it was not confirmed for everywhere now it is confirmed. just a few areas before but now its all of Spain. My Info source ...I received this info today personally from the British consulate here by phone call.

Doesn't appear so,there are posts around on facebook (I KNOW) etc that suggest there may be some truth in his post though.

Was at my Solicitor today and she said she will let me know Monday, but did a bit of research and that is what I found important to me as I am in the process of obtaining mine.

Don't panic cpt Mannering. If you already have the green A4 paperwork or new card it's will still be valid. Apparently anybody with an appointment for residencia have been cancelled. Check out Help Vega baja Facebook page

We have been residents since 2004. Will we get our Tie automatically or will we have to apply?

Msg I received from GetLegalInSpain who sorted out our Residentia;
“Confirmed by the Foreign Office in Alicante (3/7/20);
From next week (6/7/20) they will start giving appointments for Residencia issuing the new ID card TIE for UK nationals instead of the green card. The requirements for this (if changed) will be confirmed next week.
The old A4 green residency cards are still valid and there is no obligation to change it for the new TIE card. Your rights remain protected by the Withdrawal agreement.”

So if this is correct if you have a green card, nothing needs to be done, if you haven’t then you will get the new type of card.

You don't have to change your green piece of paper or card but you can if you want. I will as it looks more like an ID card with a photo but I shall wait until the mad rush is over before I do so.
