Roadworks

What exactly are they doing? They appear to have started works in quite a few streets.

Pavements would be ideal as when walking up to the high street, some of the paving is in a state of disrepair.

I read a few years ago there was funding to remove the overhead power lines/pylons up to Marquesa Golf & to put the cables underground, is this it?

Looked like some big cables going in when I looked last week so hopefully?
