Saturday night in Quesada High Street

Saturday night in Quesada High Street

Postby partygoer » Mon Jul 06, 2020 7:18 am

We were dining out with friends on Saturday night on the High St.
Great food in a nice restaurant and its good to see how the improvements to the High St are taking shape.
What spoilt it was the incredibly loud music coming from one of the bars upstairs in the new Boulevard.

We parked just up the road from the Civic building facing Goyos.
When we got out of the cars the music was so loud that as we walked towards the restaurant we couldn't hear each other!
It was deafening.

It was 7pm...and the music and entertainers continued for a couple of hours at least.

How can this be legal when other premises have to curtail entertainment to indoors or a lower decibel level.

The bar in question appeared to not be by any stretch of the imagination, applying social distancing and was full with groups stood around drinking and dancing. The restaurant staff apologized for the noise as we left at around 10.30pm.

All the money lost by businesses because the lockdown and closures due to improvements, will not be recuperated if this selfishness by one bar carries on without a thought to other quality businesses.

It will need renaming Quesada Benidorm Boulevard!

Chief’s on Broadway seem to be applying the same, get rich quick tactic, by belting out music, that we could hear a half mile away, packing them in and ignoring social distancing, dancing, singer mingling with the guests etc.

The music was so load where we were, that it must have been unpleasant for those sat in the improvised car park auditorium.

I'm not a whiner by any means..I'm usually the one who gets up dancing first.
But when I go out I dont always want to endure 'karaoke till ya chokie' or another poor rendition of Despercito..
On this occasion I'd specifically booked at a restaurant that I knew didn't have music.

But didnt realise next doors played music loud enough for a half mile radius to endure.

I think you will find this was an opening night of the bar being taken over ..yes the music was loud ..there is a tendence to turn the volume up thinking it will get people in...but for many, me included it is a put off ...yes i like good live music but also like to be able to hold a conversation..

I was under the impression that dancing is not allowed at present, the local Disco's in Rojales are open but tables are on the dance floor to stop dancing so surley dancing in bar's must be forbidden as well.

We all want to enjoy ourselves again like the old days but we all need to be patient but if people behave like described we will quickly be back to square one sat on our terrace with the other half with a can if beer and a wine wishing the bars were open . Slow down a bit guys.

All you need to do is call the police. They will get the noise reduced and deal accordingly.

It is nice to see restaurants and bars getting back on their feet ....but totally agree with you about the volume and excessive noise coming from certain areas ....sometimes quite pleasant to listen too half a mile away ....but not fair for customers in other restaurants who just want a nice meal and a chat!!
