Spain Entry Requirements
Spain Entry Requirements
by RJC » Wed May 12, 2021 7:46 am
"Spain plans to lift its requirement for British holidaymakers to present a negative coronavirus PCR test upon arrival from May 20.
Plans to change the PCR condition form part of a broader revision of EU regulations on non-essential travel.
It means British tourists could step foot on Spanish soil from May 20 without a negative PCR test despite Spain not being on the UK government green travel list - the Telegraph reports.
"Following a weekly cabinet meeting, Spain's tourism minister Maria Reyes Maroto said the lifting of entry requirements “will allow the opening of the British market so they can come to Spain.”
She added: “They (UK tourists) could come from May 20 onwards without a PCR if the incidence rates are below the range currently under review, which is around 50" cases per 100,000 people, Maroto said."

Even though I'm looking forward to my move to Spain on July, I feel this is a bad move.
Personally I think it should be either had a vaccine or a negative PCR test to enter.
Yes covid is low here in the UK, but its still here and will be for ages.
Just think it's too much just to let anyone in without something.

I copied and pasted the snip.
Unfortunate error in the original. (now amended)
The Independent reads as follows:
British tourists will be able to enter Spain without a negative PCR test from next week, according to the tourism minister.
Reyes Maroto said that, thanks to the UK’s vaccine roll-out and declining infection rate, the testing requirement for entry would be abolished from 20 May.
International leisure travel from the UK is banned until 17 May – next Monday – from when only visits to a select handful of “green” countries is advised.

So are you saying that the latest BOE posted by both Marcliff and BEE stating that the Spanish borders will remain closed until 31st May for 3rd Country tourists, has been, or will be lifed and UK Tourists will be allowed in from 20th May?
I don't know a great deal about Spanish politics, but I think I would rather read an official Bulletin saying Spain was open for Tourism from the UK or 3rd Countries from 20th May before I jumped on a plane and took my chances with Border Control at Alicante Airport.

The EU is the one considering the changes to 3rd countries. If they give the go ahead to received visitors from countries with a rate of less that 50 per 100,000 then the Spanish government would probably issue a new regulation amending the dates.
However, the rules at the moment are that no non-essential travel is allowed until after May 31st. Plus we don't know if testing or vaccine requirements are going to be kept so I think you are quite wise to wait until we know the results of the Re-open EU discussions taking place.
There have been several times when the Tourism Minister has said one thing and then been contradicted by the Spanish government. ISTR she stated back in March that Brits could come to Spain after May 12th (or close to that date) which was shot down in flames.
I think the main thing they are worried about, in this region anyway, is that this is the first weekend when travel is being allowed from Madrid and they have a case rate of around 300 per 100,000. Extra police and plastic plod are being drafted in to ensure the rules in this region are being adhered to by the many Madrileños who have holiday homes here.
Madrid also being slated today in the Spanish parliament for its "irresponsible" attitude and low restrictions which has increased the rate in Spain and has kept Spain off the UK green list. The cases in Madrid quadrupled yesterday and the number of deaths in that region almost doubled whereas the case rate for the Valencia Region has dropped to 35 per 100,000 and almost as low as 25 per 100,000 in the Alicante province.

uk may be allowed in to spain without a test, but, currently still need to have 10 days quarantine and two negative tests done, on return to uk. so, still not that simple, yet.

The EU link is here
https://ec.europa.eu/info/live-work-tra ... -to-the-eu
Current UK cases is 21.6 if it doesnt go above 50 by next Thursday then travel from the UK will be opened up. And yes Spain is on Amber as metioned by Daz 2 tests and 10 day quarantine on return to UK though
