BBVA have one called Va Contigo where you can deposit €2500 per quarter and it is free.

Most other traditional Spanish banks will have similar if you ask.

If you are resident there are more options including Open Bank, BBVA and Cajamar which have free online-only accounts and no deposit conditions.

Alternatively as a non-resident you can open multi-currency accounts with the likes of Wise or Revolut which are also online and don't have branches. These are free too.

Yes, several, no one knows your financial position other than you, you need to go in to two or three different branches, ask them how do I get a fee free account for a non res, they will tell you the criteria and hoops you might have to jump through, and you select the one with the hoops you find the easiest to jump through. Good luck.

I use Wise too for all my payments, but have retained a fee free BBVA Va Contigo account mainly for paying income tax. I just leave a nominal balance of €50 in there. If you are a new customer you can sign up to their online-only account or try Openbank (a subsidiary of Grupo Santander) as I mentioned. There will be other traditional bank accounts that fit the bill too. You can also have a joint current account with a bank which you can't with Wise.

BBVA have a totally free account. It costs nothing each month. You do not need to have any money coming into it, you do not need to keep any minimum balance in it. It comes with a BBVA debit card.

I use it simply to be able to get free cash out. I send money to it from my N26 and then I can withdraw cash from any BBVA ATM for free.
