There's only one in Rojales. South side of the bridge. Near to a little jewellers . Last time I looked the address was wrong on Google as they moved. Translator available for 10 €. I can highly recommend the jewellery shop. Cheap for repairs.

That's a good price€58 ,I always thought a Spanish will had to be notarised?.....that's were the big charges come in, Notary's are usualy expensive. As this guy is already a notary that IS a good price! but why?Its unusual to find a cheap notary ,so worth making inqueries, daz wrote:as it happens I did mine a couple of months back, Notary Jose Carlos perez Juan in Almoradi, address and phone number is,
Notaría José Carlos Pérez Juan
Avda. Príncipe de España, 2, 2º
03160-Almoradí (Alicante)
Tel. 96 570 11 21.
http://www.notariaperezjuan.es
professional, courteous service, 57.17 euro
the only slightly awkward thing about it was completing the initial word document template WILL that they send you. As soon as you start typing, it displaces everything else on the word document page, but once you suss that out, its straight forward.
if you decide to use them, keep their phone number with you when driving there, we couldn't find it, so if you are like us, you might need to give them a ring when you are close, to find the office.

He's the Notary our solicitor used to complete our purchase of our apartment nearly 3 years ago. Busy Notary office with friendly staff so I expect he is all above board.

That’s fair enough Glassman, if it helps, here’s a couple of points. Most of the WILL was written myself on their template and then submitted to them in an email attachment for acknowledgement it had all the details required. Once all that was agreed I then made the appointment. Mistakenly the person I saw in the office was who I thought was the notary. Turns out to be a courteous member of staff who clarified with me all the details and presented me with the WILL to read over, and then corrected and adjust if needed. Only then, once the paperwork was completed and in the office with us, the notary himself appeared. Confirmed I was happy with all the content and the WILL’s instructions, then duly signed it, and went. The notarys presence was less than 5 minutes from the door opening to closing it behind him on the way out.
So it’s perhaps this process of me completing the template, and then admin staff doing all the prep, that must go towards keeping the cost down.
The WILL is apparently entered into a national data base as well, for ease of locating it, should any beneficiaries don’t know where the master copy is.
if it’s found to be crooked, then they’ve gone to a lot of trouble to make it so, and of course I would like to know. But to me, all seems in order.

Writing will can be a problem as I found out many years ago..
My wife and I went to the solicitor and he asked what we wanted..we just told him if I die everything goes to my wife and vice versa... the he said as many couples dies together, ie car crashes...what happens then.?
er... we said it goes to the next of kin. ie son... but he said, the son might be with you in the car (or plane, or ship).. what then?
Hmm.. we said next of kin would be our brothers.. he said.. which one?... mine or hers..
Hmm.. we had better write that in then..
He then said... suppose you (me) die first, then a few days later she dies.. ie.. the estate would go to my wife first then when she died a couple of days later (as my wife is now a widower) the estate would go only to her next of kin, ie HER brother and my brother would get nothing...
Hmm...
The conversation went on and on..
But it made me think that perhaps this will writing thing is not as easy as we thought..

Omg Mondo, lol, life is full of what ifs. For me i did what I thought was straight forward, when I’m gone it goes to the name I gave, and if they have died then it goes to the second person I named. So in my view I have made it straight forward, after those two have died at the same time, who cares, I’m dead lol.
I hope u decided and was happy with what u wanted to do anyway. Let’s live a bit longer yet.
