Wonder if you would be so relaxed and forgiving about people’s choices if they chose to break into your house or snatch your handbag instead of taking government money they know they’re not entitled to? There are far, far greater thefts, deceptions, corruptions being committed by government every day. If someone wishes to chance their arm, then let it be a matter of conscience for them

I think that is taking it a bit too far. Whilst I cannot condone any crime, I hardly think deception can cause actual bodily harm or death.

And many think nicking money you’re not entitled to is also taking it a bit too far! We ALL pay for this kind of fraud / deception but hey, each to their own.

Well the old saying of....two wrongs don't make a right..... comes to mind.

I shouldn't think many who are permanently resident in Spain are paying to support this fraud through UK taxes.

Mine was just a friendly suggestion as to what the payment was. Turns out I was spot on with winter fuel payment(see my first post). Whether or not the payment is/was legally/morally correct is a total different matter. Soon be summer!
