I'll second that TonTri. I'm in the same position.

in uk, NHS wastes money on tv adverts encouraging people to quit, can they not make there own minds up,knowing that smoking damages your health,,and save the taxpayer money, I would have thought the denial of nhs treatment would be sufficient for treatment of smoking related illnesses,i,ve known people who quit over night,
Give it a rest.

I too find I'm talking to myself, but at least I can have an intelligent conversation.

You are asking why someone would leave their home to walk over to an empty apartment. Probably no reason other than the lady more than likely lives alone and cannot bear the isolation anymore. If she doesn’t stop to speak with someone then she should be safe enough. Perhaps her son has wifi in his apartment and she may not or perhaps there is no reason other than she misses her son and feels closer to him by being close to his possessions. Have some compassion. Did you speak to her as she walked past? Loneliness is also a killer. This woman is finding it difficult putting in 24 hours everyday on her own or worse still, perhaps she is getting away from her husband if she has one. There doesn’t have to be an obvious reason. Yes, she should not be out and doesn’t have the excuse of walking her dog but she clearly wants to get out of her confined space. Speak to the woman. ... nicely!
the rules are ,stay at home,to contain the virus and stop it spreading, we,d all like to go out,but cant, because we want to comply and get rid of this pandemic , obviously your not bothered, with that attitude,HO! n she doesn't live alone, shes just a inconsiderate person,in my view, along with many others.

Glass you will love this
the guy opposite me goes out in his shiny new BMW every morning for an hour and a half min and then every afternoon for the same amount of time.
He only comes back carrying small items I am actually beginning to wonder if there is an illegal drinking den somewhere in the Rojales area.

Or he goes to work? That is still allowed.
Our Dutch neighbour goes out about 10 o'clock and comes back about 2pm then out again from 4 to about 5.
He works for an electronic company for something or other and is ensuring all the networks continue running, possibly to keep peoples' internet or TV up and running.
Only difference now is that he goes out by himself and doesn't take his wife with him.

Hi Bro. marcliff
No he 100% doesn't work and I don't sit by the window with a spyglass I noticed it when the bad weather set in and there was eff all to do all day save the tv/Internet
my front window faces his driveway.
I have a feeling he goes out in the evening as well.
Just intrigued as to how he can get away with so many car journeys out per day - def. 2 probably 3.
Maybe just lucky that we live in a quietish area.

its a forum , everyones entitled to a view, I was asking a question , why can people not just quit,[/quote]
Everyone is different. Some people are that head strong that they can make such decisions and quit with no problems what so ever. For others, like me, it takes a bit of time. Having smoked for most of my adult life, just waking up one day and saying i quit is not an option. A chemical dependency has been created in the brain and neural pathways and habits have been changed and set in stone for many years. It will take a while to change those back and break the habit. I read somewhere once upon a time that smoking, or the nicotine addiction, was considered more addictive than heroin. Not sure on that but it wouldn't surprise me. I only smoke when i drink now and even that is minimal, but the temptation to light up can hit you at any moment. I assume you have never smoked?
