Hi All
We rent out our property and were hit with a bill of over €400. Is this common.
We duly pay our community fees, suma, non residents and letting agents fees.
Has anyone else encountered this recently.
Thanks in advance.

SUMA is the agency that collects municipal taxes on behalf of the town hall.
What bill did you get for €400? Was it an outstanding bill for something?
The taxes they collect are IBI or council tax and around 250 to 300 in this area for a 3 bed semi or detached.
They collect car tax which, in this area, ranges from about 30 to 100 euro. A 1.6 diesel SUV at 34.60 and a 2 litre sports car diesel about 93 euro.
There is the wast collection tax which has gone up to about 110 euro.
So I can't think of anything that would be €400 unless there were underpayments on somethings and they have added late payment fines but those fines are usually very low.
What does your bill for €400 say? As it's such a large one then contact SUMA direct as they have nothing to do with community, non-resident tax or agency fees.

It could be your council tax for the property. I have just received an e-mail from Suma notifying me that they plan to take the amount for the property from my account on the 3rd Oct. If you have received an e-mail about the charge you can translate it into English if you use Google chrome. Open up the e-mail and press the right mouse button. One of the options you will see is to translate it to English.

Hi Johnes
Thanks for your reply.
The amount was for 'rubbish tax' for a couple of years and late payments. We missed the emails last year and this. (Well my husband did lol!)
Marcliff was on the ball as usual
