Telfy speed question

Telfy speed question

Postby 2Sheds » Wed Oct 16, 2019 7:47 pm

I've got a strange issue with my Telfy fibre internet connection which should be approx 50Mbs.

Normally my Speedtest selects the actual Telfy server with a typical Ping of 5ms. The result is usually close to 50Mbs download as expected.

However over the last few days the Speedtest selects various other servers, but rarely Telfy. The maximum download load speed is 35Mbs with a Ping of between 10 and 20ms. In fact I've just noticed tonight that Telfy doesn't even appear on the list of servers.

Seems to me that there is something odd about only getting acceptable Speedtest results when connecting to the ISP server!

Has anyone experience similar?

Have you downloaded a vpn? I'm fairly sure that it doesn't show the telfy network, only the vpn network. I am no expert so I could be wrong.

No. I've never used a VPN.

Inconsistencies only underline my criticism.

A Fast.com test immediately prior to this post returned a miserable 4.5mb whilst Speedtest still correctly reports ~50mb

I rest my case!
