The euro to the pound.

This may come as a surprise to you..... there is no longer any need to identify any positives for leaving the EU.

The time for discussing positives was 3 years ago, before the referendum.

The Gov' are now going to carry out the result of that referendum vote......and the majority voted to leave.

So, I guess the biggest positive is that the 52% who voted to leave will have their wishes upheld.

There is no requirement for those that voted to remain to be happy or satisfied and it's quite understandable that people who want to remain are annoyed. But, it's not gonna change anything.

I'm a leave supporter so I disagree with the remain argument BUT I support your right to be unhappy about the result.

This topic started as currency exchange and as normal moved on to brexit (boring)... As for currency exchange if you live in Spain or again any country that does not have Sterling as it's currency you will have various fluctuations over a number of years. So if you have £150 Sterling to live on per week over a number of years it will go up and down so you have to allow for this, but some do not they move over when Sterling is high and then get annoyed when it drops this has over the last 3 years been mainly due to a lack of confidence in Brexit but it could be over many factors, over the next few months the markets will decide if Sterling should be supported or not, but it could be simply that the price of oil goes high and industry needs to increase prices. But the long and short is currency always goes up and down...

Of course it does and most people will have expected that.

But many who have been here more than 5 years did not expect to have their medical care cut (maybe) and their pensions frozen (maybe).

..

And we all have the right to talk about Brexit. Just as we all have the right to criticise the government who happen to be in power.. in fact, the House of Parliament is expected to... so we should too..

If the Brexiteers stopped crowing about how they won maybe the remainers would stop reminding them that they voted for a pig in a poke..

Sage, you say there is no need to identify any positives for leaving. That’s probably because like every other leave voter, you can’t find any. Perhaps you are different but so far no one has ever replied with a good reason for leaving. Can you?

There are positives (and negatives) for leaving the EU.

I'm not going to attempt to identify them as I really don't want to be part of the pointless disagreements that will result from it. We are leaving regardless of any arguments you may choose to put forward.

For the record......I voted to remain in the referendum but have since changed my mind and am now a leave supporter.

I can understand your dissatisfaction with what is happening and wish you luck in finding people with whom you can argue your point if that is really what you want.

I haven’t been here constantly belittling people as you say, in fact I’m rarely here and I resent your comment wholeheartedly
It’s you and other remainers who peddle the insults, you’ve done it now and your fellow conspirator, mondo has applauded you

I think, as I said, give it a rest

Rubbish JillandSteve, there is no rest. Democracy doesn’t end when one side gets it’s way, unless that is, the UK becomes a dictatorship, I will now campaign, within the democratic process for the UK to re-join the EU.

And don’t you agree, that by some out there, calling people who voted to remain, Remoaners, is belittling too?

As for the positives about leaving, there can only be very few, none of which have been aired. The Sovereignty thing was a red herring. The unelected bureaucrat thing was a red herring. Turkey joining the EU was a lie. It was the foreigner thing that carried the day and, quite honestly, that doesn’t say much about the English because it was the vote in England that swung things

Sage, you say you don’t want to argue the positives and negatives. Because THERE ARE NO POSITIVES. If as you say there ARE positives, just answer my 1 simple question and tell us all what they are. No brexiteer has ever answered this question, will you be the first?

I don't peddle insults. Please stand up and show me where I have insulted anyone. I just say it like it is... and when those who voted Brexit continue with misinformation I will tell the truth..

That is not conspiring with anyone... it is agreeing with another's point of view when that view is the truth

Is that such a bad thing?

..Apparently yes, for some when it conflicts with misinformation..

I agree with you in part but as nothing yet is proven and we all need to give it time and see how it turns out
If it’s a train wreck then I’m sure the EU will welcome us back as they seem over desperate to make leaving very difficult
As the Eagles said, you can check out any time you wish, but you can never leave
I think calling someone a remoaner is a very mild, innocuous term and there’s plenty of insults going both ways far worse than that and I bet you’ve used one of them yourself more than once
However, it’s not belittling, it’s normal debate language for brexit and has been from day one
What I resent is the personal attack by Benjy who accused me of constantly belittling people, something I’ve never done
We can believe in either side of the debate but folk like benjy just need to reel it in a little
