The procedure when you land at Alicante Airport from23rd Nov

Postby Bee » Sun Nov 22, 2020 10:46 pm

This is what happens tomorrow when you land at Alicante Airport or any Spanish airport.

Starting tomorrow, passengers arriving at the airports have to go to the control windows, where there are signs marked "Foreign Health Authority" and where members of the Foreign Health Department will be in charge of receiving the PCR they bring. .

In the event that travelers do not carry the PCR with them, for which they may be penalized, they will have to take the antigen test at the airports themselves, where they will obtain the test result within approximately one hour.

Waiting areas are enabled

To do this, waiting areas have been set up, one for before taking the test and another to wait for the result; a series of rooms in which the medical personnel will carry out the tests and another isolation space for people who can give a positive result in this antigen test.

In addition, a new secondary control point has been arranged so that , if there is any type of documentation to be completed, it can be done there with the help of specialized personnel.

Airports already had an implanted device for health controls, which will now be expanded to carry out all these procedures and tests, if necessary.

If the passenger tests negative for the antigens, they will be able to continue their trip normally, and if they test positive, the health alert protocols established in coordination with the autonomous communities will be activated , in order to be referred to a health center.

Health checks upon arrival in Spain are mandatory, so refusing to do so entails the application of the corresponding sanction.

Also the health control form, which all travelers must complete
before entering will now include a question about whether they have a negative PCR performed within 72 hours prior to arrival in our country. The document must be original, written in Spanish or English and in paper or electronic format.

In the event that the form could not be completed electronically, through the QR code generated through the website
http://Www.spth.gob.es or the Spain Travel Health-SpTH application, it may be submitted in paper format, in which case it will have to be accompanied by the original document certifying the completion of the diagnostic test.

Passengers who show their negative PCR may leave the airport unless the temperature or documentary controls detect any symptoms or suspicion of COVID-19, in which case they will have to undergo a rapid antigen test at the same airports.

The significant drop in traffic at airports due to COVID and the fact that passengers are usually very well informed of the requirements they need before traveling suggests that all operations can be carried out quite normally.

Good post Bee. Fortunately I came back before 23rd and avoided the process but it seems well thought out.

It doesn't say anything about cost. Obviously if you don't have the PCR you will have to pay to undergo the test. But what happens I wonder if you have to do the rapid antigen test. Will they make you pay or will it be free?

I assume the cost will be after the €6000 fine for arriving without a PCR test. They could then do the antigen test out of that.

You may be required to have the antigen test even if you have your PCR test certificate and all your documentation is in order but the health authorities for one reason or another are not happy i.e your temp is high. In which case I would presume there should be no charge. It is only the lack of the PCR Cert which invokes the fine according to the regulations.

The very idea that a region hard hit by a tourism slump would fine a single person is beyond belief.

Words are easy, actions less so.

This is Spain not the UK, they won't hesitate to fine people here, if it's 60 or 6000 they will want it!!!!
