TIE and padron UPDATE

TIE and padron UPDATE

Postby Russ and claire » Sun Feb 28, 2021 12:22 pm

Hi All. We have today managed to get an appointment in Alicante for next Friday to exchange our Residencia for TIEs. As we are doing this ourselves, we just want to double check about the padron. We have lived here since 2018 and not moved. The residencia cards show our current address and the latest date on our padrons is June 2020. Are we right in thinking that we don’t need to get current padrons to complete the TIE process?

No you need to take an upto date padron as they are checking everything.

Hi..we did our TIE change over due to change of address..seems the norm now that your padron needs to be dated within the last 3 months (found this last week with registering S1s also)

I think it depends on who you see. We were advised that we wouldn't need one as we're at the same address but decided to get ours updated just in case as the appointments are hard to get. The person that saw me actually kept mine but the person that dealt with my husband didn't ask for his.

As it's easy to renew I would advise you to do it as you don't want anything to go wrong.

That's exactly what happened to us.
It wasn't until we got home I realis one was missing

Had our TIE appointment 3 weeks ago, we were told Padron not required unless our address has changed. We haven’t changed address but being Spain, we decided to get a new copy of our Padron ‘just in case’ !

Neither of us were asked for this at the TIE appointment!

When we did ours in Alicante a couple of weeks ago, we had to take our padron & a copy, both of these were taken off us. However, we were 1st time applicants and it might be different if you're exchanging residencia.

I originally signed on the Padron in October but when I went for my TIE appointment in Alicante in January I was advised I had to renew it as it needed to be less than 3 months old. Anyone without a recent Padron was sent away.
