Toll Roads through France & Spain
Toll Roads through France & Spain
by larryinplymouth » Sat Jun 16, 2018 6:19 am
Hi all.
We are travelling to Lo Crispin next month and driving from Roscoff. We have set the route and we obviously travel through quite a number of toll roads. Can anyone advise if the tolls take credit card payment or is is typically cash only? Anyone else out there travelled this route before?... any advice is welcome. Larry

Credit cards are the quickest, just look for the card signage above the toll booth lanes.

Contact Sanef Tolling & buy a pass that allows you to drive straight through the tolls without stopping. Save loads of time & stress & they debit your account at the end of each month, if you use it. You pay about £20 to set it up then only pay when you use it. I just have one for French tolls but you can get one for Spain, if you wish. Best thing ever

I agree with Lance. We drive to Spain at least twice a year - purchasing a SANEF toll pass has been great - it saves having to queue at the toll booths.

If using card or cash don't forget to have the passenger primed and ready as all the booths are on the "wrong" side of the UK car

We travel 3-4 times a year by car and always pay by cash, we know where we are then and don't have to double check at the end of the month statements blah blah blah. We've never had problems with queues, sometimes you may get 2 in front of you but normally, straight through.

I've got a toll tag from a company called Bip&Drive. It works in France, Spain & Portugal. It cost me €6.50 to have it sent to me, and I pay €1.99 per month for just the months that I use it. It was the best and cheapest option I could find. I drive through the tolls at about 25 kph. Saves so much time and fiddling about!
But I don't pay any tolls in Spain. It's very easy to get from the south of France down to this area on non-toll roads
Geoff.

It is easey to avoid the toll roads and travel for free on mainly dual carriage way, using the freevtoll roads around big cities in france.
