Hallo

I am due to exchange contracts on my house within the next two weeks and we are due to leave the UK on the 30th November and live in Spain. We are travelling with a company that takes pets as well as ourselves by a special van . We will be using the Eurotunnel then going through France then into Spain arriving at Pilar de la Horadada. We will have two overnight stops in Dog friendly Hotels one in France and one in Spain. I do not see anything about travel by road having any restrictions, but staying overnight i am not so sure, as all i can see is that there is an 11pm to 6am curfew?

Does anybody have any further information about this as it would be most grateful!

As pointed out on other threads, you will need a reason to travel certificate to go through France. If you are going to your main place of residence then that is allowed however the French guide states you need a residence certificate to travel . You can download the form and the instructions by reading the other threads. Apparently you need a new form for each day you are travelling. You will also have to explain to the Border Force in UK your reason for travelling at the moment as all foreign travel is currently banned. Going to your main place of residence should be a sufficient reason.

The exemption certificate for France is here. Exemption Certificate You need the essential family reasons option. You can download it electronically but only in French.

FAQ in English on journeys and travel can be found at this link Advice to Travellers

You do not require a PCR test to enter Spain by road.

Other threads also give the curfew hours when you cannot travel as each region has different ones. Valencia Region curfew is midnight to 0600 but others are from 2200 to 0700. You are allowed to transit a region but not during curfew hours so you need to check, or the company bringing you, will need to check which curfew hours are in place in each region. You can stay overnight in a hotel provided you have booked in advance and have a printed reservation. You may not stop anywhere else.

These restrictions and curfews are due to end at the end of this week but it appears that they will be extended so will probably cover the date of your trip.

I should think the company your are contracted with will have all the details and required paperwork for your trip.

Enjoy your trip.
