Didn’t anyone on here live through the 1980s,inflation 17%plus,mortgage rates 15%,we all survived,difference between then & now is people lived within their means,unlike now.

The difference between then and now is that 99% of people on this forum were not reliant on a favourable exchange rate.

The Bank of England has just Issued a statement saying that it won’t hesitate to increase rates when necessary. I don’t know when necessary is but I would have thought that now would be a good time. I’m Getting angrier. (Or should that be more angry)?

Apparently Graham Brady (1922 committee) has already received letters of no confidence in Liz Truss from MPs. Perhaps we'll get another leadership election. Boris did say at his farewell speech that he would be back !

You cannot afford to move abroad reliant on a good exchange rate,it fluctuates constantly,in 2009 the pound was down to €1 09, of course the man in charge then was the man who ruined nearly all the final salary pension funds,Gordon Brown.

We both did, have always lived within our means and still do.

Not meaning people like you Chris,meaning a lot of the younger generation ,of course not all.(starting to sound like my mother)
