and then theres me, who lived through the 80s and was paying a mortgage at 16% .....when fuel prices went through the roof as did everything else...and survived....

Yes things are bad in the UK, but inflation is worse in many other major countries, including France and Germany.
Yes the pound crashed, but is already clawing its way back and if the BOE increases rates to market expectations in November we should see it fully recover and rise even higher.

Yes, it is all going well for the Tories.
The cunning plan is working well (see my previous post).

Well everyone's personal circumstances are different. Those that are moving house are very happy as the SDLT is reduced, those with mortgages are not so happy. Some of us, me included, are virtually unaffected. In Spain, amongst the expat community, it seems there is quite a lot of dislike, not only for the Tories but most things about the UK.

Some of us are indeed lucky, but that does not disguise the fact that successive lying, inept tory govts over the last 12 years have taken the UK to the brink of ruin. What people dislike is what the tories have and are doing to our country.
