UK number calling

I have a missed call from a uk number from the guildford area.... when I try to call it back it says number not assigned

I googled the number but nothing comes up

Any clues anyone

I can not tell but the fact that a number has been registered on the recipient's phone means it exists and I do know that call centres have a program built into the phone system to show that the numbers is not a registered number

Why would you want to ring it back, if it was from someone you know, and was important, then they would be ringing more once. And if you don’t know the number, whose to say you ringing it back might incur a premium rate call cost at your expense. We’re all desperate for a chat from time to time, but hope u don’t rush in to a call that may be nothing more than a canvas call or a scam.

I’ve been getting a lot of UK calls recently all scams. If you don’t recognise it I would ignore it. Many of the scams softwares ring a random number first to see if it’s a real phone number, then ring again to try and scam you.

The problem with ringing back numbers you don't know is that they can incur very high charges.

I thought you guys might benefit from the below table highlighting the exact cost of each type of number group when calling from a UK mobile - bear in mind if you have a call bundle, all calls to 01/02/03 numbers along with 071, 072, 073, 074, 075, 07624, 077, 078 or 079 numbers will be free up to your bundle limit

In general if you have a bundle you're OK with 01/02/03 and 07 (not 070) and 080 numbers

Avoid the rest if you can.
