unvaccinated residents

The problem arises when someone has the need for an urgent hospital appointment/operation only to have it repeatedly cancelled due to a shortage of beds & resources that are being used to treat unvaccinated Covid patients.
It's happening regularly in the UK.

You’d have thought that, with all those supposed extra hundreds of millions of, Post Brexit pounds the NHS get, they'd have the extra beds and staff needed by now.

And you definitely shouldn't be pressured. It's entirely your choice.
The one thing I'd add is that EVERY "medical" thing comes with unknown risk.
How many people have had LASIK eye surgery? How many of those were prepared to wait to see if anyone went blind 30, 40 or 50 years after having it?
Those who had it back in the early 90s took a risk, and took it knowing that they wanted a better quality of life.
I guess that's why many get vaccinated...without it, life will undoubtedly be harder.

Also harder for a close family member that had a stroke a few hours after getting the booster. He'll never be the same again and nearly died. Of course no one ever points the finger at this new wonder drug. The safety and efficacy of this injection is far from certain.

There are some 60 odd million people in the UK. At any one time in the country 100,000 people have strokes.
Some of them may have just had a coffee, some a beer. Some may be watching Coronation Street. No one suggests that having a coffee, beer Coronation Street caused the stroke.
But if the random stroke comes after a jab many blame the jab.
How silly is that?

Employers are only legally required to provide SSP, which is much less.
All credible experts around the world agree that the vaccine is safe and any risk is very low. The benifit significantly outweighs the risk.
This is not the opinion of not just anyone, but the opinion of the recognised and credible experts
Some people just don't fancy taking that risk and its quite understandable, even if its rare its still a risk to the individual

And some employers don’t want to take the greater risk of paying SSP or, Death in Service benefits to staff who have not protected themselves.
Many employers have clauses in their employment contracts banning staff from some ‘dangerous’ activities and even, a second employment
