Please be extra vigiliant and if at all possible do not stand there on your own as they creep up on you before you know it

A couple of house burglary’s in Quesada last night too. Not far from the centre of town. Smashed the locks but also smashed all the outdoor light sensors too

My Villa on Atalaya Park was burgled last night.
They lifted the grills to back patio door and forced them open.
Took jewellery and an empty suitcase.
No electrical items taken.
Thankfully no-one was hurt and that is always the most important thing.
However I kind of wish I was there....they'd have regretted it!

Do they ever catch these lowlives?

I would f***ing love to catch them they would never break into a home again.

Well actually, sometimes yes. We had our shed burgled last year ( they didn't get into the house, for which I was grateful. Sympathy to those whose houses were invaded), the guardia caught the person responsible, recovered some of the items, the insurance company (La caixa insurance) made a decent settlement for items not recovered and for repairing the shed, I have been cited to attend Torrievieja court twice in the past year as a witness to the proceedings and just got a citation to attend the sentencing next week. Presumably so I can "see justice being done". And the Guardia and local policia ( local police delivered the citations) have been charming and courteous to me throughout. So all in all a pretty positive experience of the Spanish system in action...
