What business/ service is missing in the area

What have you worked at in the UK? Tell us what you are experienced in and we might be able to guide you as to whether there is a need for it here or not.
Your question sounds a bit vague. If a lot of members recommend the same thing, you might think great, that's what we will go for and not have any experience at it.
We have seen people set up a business here which they thought would work but they didn't have the expertise to make a decent go of it. Sadly it closed down relatively early on and cost them a right few bob.
Do you speak spanish, it could be a vital requirement for a lot of businesses to succeed?
I don't want to sound negative but behind the dream and sunshine, realistically you need to know what you are doing - especially with two very young children.

I think that the facility to clean a motorhome or caravan would be appreciated.
You have the normal car wash places but nothing with the ability to get the roof cleaned properly.
Plus the ability to repair caravans and/or motorhome at reasonable rates.

Yes, thats actually quite a good idea. Mobile valeting anf repairs. Wonder if thers enough business to keep it afloat? Apart from valeting inside, what repairs would you do ?
One of the problems i found was finding a garage with high enough door and roof to get a motorhhome in, and then up on the hydrualic ramps, wher i am from ther were only two, wiha 9M higfh bay.
So that raises the point, can you repair motorhomes on the road if thers no private drive? Other wise you'd need premises.
And then theres some parts inside you couldnt fix, like the gas cooker, unless youy're a gas engineer. What about the 12v/240v/gas fridges in motorhomes? They are also specialised knowledge.

What sort of thing do you feel is missing from the area? What business could the area benefit from?
A company that supplies and fits quality affordable uvpc double glazing would be good. Seems to be a lot of rip off merchants in this area.

Wow thank for the replies everyone.
We own a building and development company in the UK. Which is doing better than we could have ever have imagined, but unfortunately it's something we wouldn't want to carry on in Spain, well, should I say my husband wouldn't want to.
I'll tell you our predicament......
We have longed to live in Spain for years, but only recently started to look into it. The more we look into it the more we come up against obstacles.
We're not ones to just jump into something without knowing exactly what we are going to come up against along the way.
It took us the best part of a year to decide if to set up our own business or not, but we made it work and it's paying off.
There lies our problem....because we wouldn't be carrying the business on. We would be giving up a life in which we work SO hard for and so hard to ensure our children go without nothing and to live a comfortable life.
But if we were to move to Spain, I honestly think, given the autonomo, accountant fees (which to be honest sounds similar to our accountant fees here) tax iva, totalling approximately 600e a month. You're paying out a hell of a lot of money before you even take a wage! And u think we would be living in the bread line!
So moving out there, yes it would be a healthier lifestyle, an outside lifestyle and the sun would be shining....but we would be penny pinching each month and having to be careful with our spends. Is that something we really want to go back to?!
Which brings me back to why I asked the original question....what is missing from the area. So we could have an idea of a business plan and set up something which the local people want and we could make work. And enjoy living out there and not have to worry each month when the bills are due
I used to be an estate and letting agent manager before having the children and my husband, before training a a bricklayer 15 years ago, used to be in the fitness industry, he's also high up in jiu-jitsu, amazing with children and an extremely good cook.
I adore property and interiors.
So there's it all laid out. I think with no guarantees and a hell of a lot to lose, not to even mention the upheaval with the children. I'm not sure if we've come to the end of the road with our dreams

You answered your own question in your second paragraph , the beurocracy , the and overlapping of rules and regulations and the slow inept attitude of local authorities [ up to 7 yrs for license applications ..!!] is what holds Spain back and it also fuels the black economy as people cannot wait so long for decisions to be made so they go for it any way .
Most things that have been suggested have already been tried , to set up here you need language skills to deal with lawyers ,licenses , permits , also a large pot of money to cope with the ever increasing bills for the additional hoops that will be introduced to enable you to go forward .
Best of luck ,you will certainly need it .

Why don't you have the best of both Worlds? Buy a holiday home. Keep what you have and still keep that dream going?

I think we are going to look into that next. I suppose that way we can come over every school holiday.
