Why would someone do such a thing.
Why would someone do such a thing.

Hi All... I live in Benijofar and I love living in Benijofar. A couple of weeks ago our lovely Spanish neighbour started to feed a Young small and very underfed cat that was hanging around her front gate. Over the days the cat started to look better in that it put on weight and started to clean and wash itself. Our neighbour asked if we would take over the feeding for a week as she was going on holiday. I agreed ...however a week ago the cat suddenly disappeared and up to today had not been seen. This morning my Son and Daughter came over to visit and entered the house proclaiming that the cat had reappeared and was lying under the neighbours parked car and was in pain. We got hold of the cat who was once again very thin and had a dragging rear leg...the cat was taken to the vet who after examination and X ray declared that She (the cat)has been shot three times in her back leg. As I write she will need to see a specialist after some care to get her strong enough to carry out whatever procedure if any can help her. What sort of lunatic does this sort of thing...I am sure that evidence suggests that if you will harm animals then its not very large step to hurting another Human being. Am I angry ...you bet I am.

Interesting, as one of my neighbours in Benimar, recently got a new cat and a few weeks on, it came home one night with an air pellet in its neck, the Vet said it was too risky to operate, but it should survive.

One of the reasons I won't get a cat. You can't stop them going in other people's gardens and people can be cruel. It happens everywhere unfortunately. My mums neighbour used to lay poison down which I think is dreadful, the good thing is he himself had a painful death which lasted about a year. Serves himself right. He used to shoot the pigeons too didn't care where they landed.

I agree such acts wanton and mindless cruelty are despicable and the perpetrators deserve swift and harsh punishment, which they'd get from me if I caught them, however it has to be said that taking pleasure in another human beings long and painful death will be regarded by many as almost equally despicable.

The english tend to be kind to animals, but i must say ive observed that the Spanish seem to be excessively cruel to various animals such as Bulls, Donkeys, and cats, but kind to dogs. Now its their country, they can behave how they like, im not judging, but thats how it seems to me.

I would never contribute to a charity for humans, its the humans spoiling the world and the creatures that live on it, Cat charity every time...……….
theres some sad bas***ds around that would do that shooting a defenceless animal, the police should be notified as its animal cruelty,a few weeks ago our street cat was poisoned, we took it to vets it was in for 4 days having treatment luckily it recovered ,it wernt cheap but worth it,

Sadly the English don't tend to be kind to animals...some of the hate I have seen against dogs and cats defies the odds, there are a great deal of Spanish who love animals, I am on several FB sites regarding this, I have heard people say that they will put poison down for cats and dogs...English they are!!! I hope the person who shot this little cat gets to meet his or her karma!!

I have a frequent feline visitor in my garden and it often leaves me little presents
it is a pretty little thing a sort of mink colour but the presents it leaves are very annoying I would return them but I have no idea who the owner is
I wouldn't dream of hurting the cat though
