And one of these for the lounge area but on a timer to come on early morning as I'm an early riser http://www.leroymerlin.es/fp/17145212/e ... cha=510802.

The rest of the time we will use the aircon heaters.

Those panels are not very good but if you do use them then make sure you stick some reflective foil on the wall behind them

Cheers Jpeg, will do. They are really just to take the chill off not to use as any main source of heating. I will have them on a timer to come on for a couple of hours when we go to bed and again early in the morning so it's comfy when we get up.

Oh yes definitely. The rugs and slippers will be coming out of hiding when we return at the end of next month

Bottom line, have a warm bed and you will be snug as bugs in a rug. I think mine is 13.5 tog but recently I bought a new 10.5 fogarty quilt which is perfect.
Once the sun goes down in Spain, it becomes cold or cool. Get a good wall heater for your bathroom too. If you don’t have aircon, a little fan heater will take the chill off the bedroom. I should add that I also have a dual controlled electric blanket, my husband doesn’t feel the cold as much as I do so he switches the blanket off before getting into bed whilst I finally switch mine off minutes before falling asleep.
Yes, good slippers for you both as the tiled floors are cold when you get up in the morning.
A good oil filled heater is a great back up! You can buy one at SATs on a Wednesday and Sunday morning, €10. People donate to the dogs trust when returning home and selling up.
The most important thing to do is to draft proof your property .If stairs go up from the living room, you will have difficulty keeping the room at a constant heat. Possibly, you could hang a heavy curtain above to stop the cold air from coming in. Be prepared before the cold sets in.
Pure wool sweaters help too. The first few times we visited during the winter months, I brought style rather than warmth! I leave a few cashmere sweaters there now which are soooo warm and light. Bring a woolly hat and scarf for evening walks and a good cosy anorak, you can walk happily along the beach and enjoy every minute of it. ( one of the new gillets filled with down are as light as a feather and perfect too). The Scandinavians always seem to have the right clothes on!
The WONDERFUL thing is that the daytime is usually sunny and lovely. People out walking their dogs, drinking coffee or vino along the street, sitting chatting with friends and relaxing in the sun. That is what we all love. The evenings are the same as Home, telly switched on, lamps lit and the place warmed up and you sitting relaxed and happy with a glass of wine in your hands!
Enjoy your dream home.
