Harry's Bar - Sunday Lunch

Postby Sandra » Sun Sep 29, 2013 6:04 pm

Address: avd. Costa Azul, Cuidad Quesada. Tel: 965 999 973. Harrys Bar tucked away at the top of the road.Just arrived back from Sunday lunch - again went in a group - this time of 12 people. The owners of the Sportsman apparently run this club also. You could have 1, 2 or 3 courses (approx €8, €9, & €10) - no free drink!! I only had two courses - but most of the others had three. The roasts and the veg were plentiful and more veg could be supplied on request! A few "doggy bags" were provided at the end by the owners!;)
Although trying to watch my weight - having a capucccino - spoilt all my good intentions! However, it was the cheapest one that I have had, at €1.20, this holiday.I am not sure if it is always the case, but it was quite noisy - and that was before 9 women and 3 men started to chat! The parking is on the road. The only drawback to this venue could be if you are "walking wounded" - I am still hobbling about on a walking stick and there were a couple of nasty slopes to negotiate - however, I did see that a disabled scooter was there - so maybe the slopes are easier for "drivers"!!!:D

Just been to Harry's bar, Quesada for Sunday lunch. What a disappointment. The meal tasted
lovely but the portion was small and the amount of vegetables we had looked like a child's portion.
A small dish arrived for two of us, containing a few slices of carrots, cauliflower and when we moved them found a tiny bit of cabbage.
Sorry, first and last time. Won't be recommending them to friends.

Cem The sunday lunch is lovely at Harrys bar, and as the original poster did comment that more veg would be provided on request. lots of people I suppose may think the portions are large, some good, some ok, I don't think anybody can please anybody all of the time. I would certainly recommend anybody to eat at Harrys bar, and felt that on your negative view I wanted to add a positive. the battered cod up there is to die for (my own opinion) it is a very busy bar from what I can tell, and everybody seems friendly. (customers and staff) But at the end of the day everybody has their own opinion, and mine is that Harrys bar is a great all round bar/eatery and I will certainly continue to recommend Harrys to my friends. Harry's Sunday lunch was a favourite of ours as well, but we have noticed recently that "it is not the same", (although still very nice). Somebody told us the original Chef has gone elsewhere, but before leaving he did train the staff he worked with and they are still there.

Out of interest does anybody know where he went??? I think in a former life he also worked as Chef where the crazy golf is near Atalaya Park, so he does get about a bit. :text-lol:

Harry's is one of our favourite haunts, went downhill a few years ago but then Harry (a coincidence) and Joanne took over the helm.
Free wifi, quiz nights, very very generous measures of spirits, great food..what more does one need? :P
Staggered home lots of times from there, child friendly too.
