Holiday Restaurant List

Postby adrianb1 » Wed Aug 20, 2014 8:21 pm

Just got back from a couple of weeks in Quesada so,being lazy, thought I'd do a restaurant review en masse

Nan King - Good value for money Chinese food - try the crispy duck.

Chillies - Raved about this last time - bit of a disappointment. Price now 14E - poppadoms not good, very little chutney and the veg on sizzlers was raw. The curry was still really tasty but definitely slipped a notch or too.

Patagonia steak - if all you like is meat!! 10E but doesn't include IVA.

International Chinese, Guardamar - Great value food, service chaotic, lovely setting by park. Wins prize for weirdest dish - Prawn cocktail was a tin of cocktail fruit with four prawns on it - they did change it

Quesada fish and chips - Love the fish - big portions, freshly cooked. Wish I could get something like it where I live

Herradura, Los Montesinos - best night of the holiday. Bit more upmarket, lovely food outside in a walled garden. Great service and good show. Loved it.

Spice Hut. Buffet Night. Awful. Restaurant full and they couldn't cope. Poor service, buffet didn't actually have all of the food at any point I was there. When a new tray came out it was like the Alamo with people rushing to get food. The curries were just meat in Gravy and the spices hadn't been cooked out. No naans appeared.Sweet? Bowl of water melon chunks. Complained and manageress was very apologetic and acknowledged it was a disaster for them and they hadn't expected so many people. Simple, don't let them in and take their money then. Wouldn't have paid in England but didn't fancy an argument with the Spanish police

Auberge - Benijofar - Ok - nice place, good friendly service but menu seems the same as last year and food not as good but still quite expensive.

Can't think of where else we went as the cold of England is numbing my brain. :?

Good idea to do this. Unfortuntely it seems that during the height of the tourist season most restaurants seem to make their portions smaller and their standards lower. We've lived here for 10years and it has been very noticable this year. Not the best way to encourage people to re-visit.
