There are lots of good restaurants. One of my favourites for a special meal is La Perla Roca on the golf course (International style food) but there are other good ones depending on the type of food you like.

Each to their own but 3 of the best are La Brisa and Da Silva in Quesada and in Benijofar it's La Cosecha

Recommend Silverstones, Montebello ( the other side of the motorway). Interesting decor themed around Formula 1 with lots of memorabilia. Food classed as "fine dining".

It depends on your definition of “special” as everyone’s is different and comes with a different budget.

Most of the ones already mentioned are good, La Perla Roca used to be very good but for the last few years it has very much been up and down. Personally, I think Finca La Vuelta in Formentera (actually closer to Rojales !) is better than all of those mentioned. If you want to go even higher end, then there are several Michelin star rated restaurants but you would need to drive a little further - closest one is Elche

Budapest restaurant at the bottom of Pablo Bravo is by far the best restaurant for that special meal

La Vuelta ...is always very special

La Herradura at Los Montesinos. You have to book at weekends but for lovely food and a flamenco show under the stars (during the summer or in doors if it's cold) you can't beat it.
Next to the REPSOL Garage on the road into Los Montesinos.

La marquesa golf club is very good with lovely views down the freeway if you dine outside.
