Is it a legal requirement for all restaurants to have a Menu del Dia either at lunchtime or evening meal.

The obligation to provide a menu del dia (dating from the Franco era) was repealed in 2010. Only Navarre, Aragon and Asturias kept the law stating it must be offered as a "tourist menu".

Everywhere else it is generally done but is not a legal requirement. Spanish government tried to ban offering alcohol with the tourist menu but this was voted out.

Thank you very much Marcliff. I was curious as most places do seem to offer one but today we went to The Paradise Restaurant in Quesada who did not have one. We did enjoy our meal though!
