Repsol Sol

We all know what a Michelin Star is but there is an award given to Spanish restaurants for "outstanding gastronomy experiences" called the Repsol Sol (Repsol Sun).

We now have a restaurant near us that has been granted this prestigious award and it the Herradura restaurant in Los Montesinos. It is on the approach to Los Montesinos next to the Repsol garage.

It is a 19th century rural house which has been converted. Doesn't look much outside but very nice renovations inside.

This is not a 12 euro menu del dia place although they do have one of those at €13.50 at lunchtimes. The special menu for two will cost 80 euro sharing or 50 euro per person if not a sharing dish. However, 3 course evening meals with a good choice are around 25 euro per person with a 5 euro extra charge for lamb or beef steak.

Gets excellent reviews on review sites. They have live Flamenco music on Thursday and Saturdays and Flamenco dancing on Wednesday and Friday at 8pm.

Maybe somewhere for a special occasion.
