Spanglish Bar Dona Pepa

Postby tadpoles » Sun Jul 14, 2013 7:47 am

Just returned to DP2 after a few months away. Lovely to get back to Spanglish and like the new indoor seating area with snacks and tapas. Good bar as there is always a mix of British and Spanish families. (Pity the bar nearby is so loud and noisy.) Always a friendly welcome from the owners and a chance for us Brits to practise our Spanish and feel that we are in Spain and not in an extension of UK. Keep up the good work Spanglish!!!

We love it there too. It's one of our favourite bars in the whole area.

I hear a bar has opened up next door to Spanglish??

Spanglish Bar is near Consum and opposite the Wok & car-park in the Lo Marabu area of Dona Pepa. There are a few bars around there. Next door to Spanglish is El Toro another bar and on the same road at the end is Lazarran a Spanish Tapas bar. On the rear side of the Wok, behind a vets, is a small Spanish bar called El Faro. All the bars have outside seating.
Spanglish has a good free quiz on a Sunday at 9pm and all the bars have occasional musical entertainment (see the individual bars for 'what's on').

Great bar owners cannot do enough for you, very family friendly. Visited last week with my family and we all enjoyed the company and food yum yum.... Angela who I believe is the owner sat with my children teaching them Spanish. I have to agree with Tadpole though, bar next door El Torro very noisy.

Very family friendly indeed. Have had lunch there on two occasions and the kids love the staff since the staff always pay extra attention to their youngest customers.
