Can you recommend a tradesman to clean my air con, I would need the ducting pipes cleaned. How often should you clean your air con.

I remove the filters twice a year and clean them. Once before I need them for cooling and once before I need them for heating. Had no problems.

Would recommend Ben the refrigeration man https://www.facebook.com/refrigerationman/

Every two years for complete 'deep cleaning' is probably sufficient, especially if you clean the filters yourself in the interim as Marcliff suggests. Ben could advise. He does a thorough job. Certainly our aircons really improved efficiency after Ben had cleaned them.

When my aircon stopped working I called Steve Birkett.

He came promptly, checked the outside unit.. he said it was okay, then he turned off the aircon at the mains, left it off for 5 mins and turned it on again... and it worked..

When I asked him how much I owed him he said nothing as he hadn't done anything.

He would be my choice for service/repairs to aircon.
