Key Holding

Postby ScottCummings » Thu Jan 17, 2019 12:01 pm

Hi, does anyone know of a key holding / pickup / drop off service. We are in the UK and the opposite end of the country to friends/family wanting to use our apartment. I don't want to post keys out. Is there somewhere local in Quesada which could hold keys? I was considering a combination key lock box which I could hide somewhere out of sight, but the apartment is on a gated community so would need a key for the outside gate in the first instance.

Thanks for any advice.

Ring Judith at Quesada Housesitters on +34 633 595 508. They are registered key holders so your house insurance won't be jeopardised. They have very cheap prices compared to most other key holders/property management companies. This is now our second year of using them.

When I first employed Judith she charged €20 per month that the property isn't occupied, nothing for any months it is occupied. I don't think it's changed.

I paid 60 euros to SGM Abogados for a year to hold a spare set of keys - and a couple of times have had people pick up the keys from them when I wanted stuff done in the house. Indeed one year when I was worried I might have a leak ( looking online at a rather large waterbill) they even sent the junior lawyer up to my house to check it out and never charged me a cent for that... Also wanted a spare set held locally in case I locked myself out/lost my keys etc. They take identity etc of anyone collecting the keys. The main drawback is obviously this is only during normal Spanish office hours so fine as a basic safeguard but not for holiday arrivals etc when people might be coming late at night/out of hours etc - in that situation Judith from Quesada House sitters would definitely be your best bet. Judith has done major house cleans for me in the past and is very good....

Maybe things have changed since I first engaged her services 3 years ago. My apartment is occupied more or less every month of the year as I live here for 5 months in the winter and it is rented out from May to October. Check with her.

Just wondering, would people still recommend Judith?

At 60€ a year SGM sounds like a bargain. I'll probably use them to hold a spare set of my keys now. Thanks Shiva
