Takeaways from bars !!!

Noticed recently a bar at La Marquesa golf are open for takeaways !! That's fine with me trying to survive in these hard times. I definitely a supporter of local businesses. What I don't support are people thinking the law doesn't apply to them. People are standing around on the terrace overflowing on to pavement no social distancing no masks laughing and joking. I'm I missing something here takeaways mean you buy and TAKEWAY.

You are correct Haze. Takeaway means to buy your food and take it away. Obviously no police about like Guardamar, who are very strict!

The police were outside Burger King earlier checking they were just getting drive throughs. They were talking to one lad who was standing outside eating stuff from a bag. Don't know whether they warned him off or anything.

A few places in Torrevieja are similar, they have like decking outside no tables and chairs but bannisters and people stand there eating their toast, drinking coffee and having a fag.,

We had takeaway sandwich from Oscar's yesterday but that's what it was a takeaway

Thanks for replies. I drive past 2/3 times a week numbers seem to have grown don't think the bar selling food just drinks tea/coffees etc you can clearly see people drinking from paper cups standing around and having a chat. Socialising has to stop.

Just to add some up to date information. I was there at 1145 today. There were 3 people standing outside on the pavement chatting; 2 of which had coffees.

In addition there were four more queuing at the bakers next door.

I wouldn't have thought those numbers breached covid rules. Let's get things in perspective please. There are many instances of people flouting covid rules. I don't believe this is one.

PS the "takeaways" are tea and coffee only and don't extend to brandy and other acohol like at Guardamar

I understand your objection but people ring for takeaways and sometimes this means waiting until their order is ready. People also stop for a takeaway coffee and the like, these things don't appear instantly and you do find yourself waiting near the shop/bar for your order. Providing a safe distance is maintained I don't see the problem, or, more importantly I can't see what the vendor can do to alleviate the issue.

All that I will add is that you please support your local businesses during these difficult times & please observe the rules to keep everyone safe

Takeaway means that you don't consume your purchase on the premises, you can eat & drink on the street though.

Don't think many people pre order tea and coffee.
