UNBLOCK-A-ROD SL

We recently called out this company to unblock a drain for our 97 year old friend Eileen.
Her toilet had erupted 4 weeks ago causing extensive damage to her carpets. The President of her community called out a drain "Specialist" who allegedly cleared her drain allowing her to use her toilet again.
Unfortunately, 4 weeks on and her toilet was close to overflowing again, so I looked at the adverts in the Costa Blanca People and found an advert for UNBLOCK-A-DRAIN who arrived within the hour to sort out the problem. The problem being that the previous people did NOT clean out the other pipes coming into the main drain and these pipes were filled with calcium in large chunks which of course slowed everything down and caused a massive blockage again. David and Pedro spent an hour and a half clearing all 4 pipes leading in to the main drain and we even got the president round to see for himself what had happened. Glad to report that the president agreed to pay for the work done out of community funds and has even booked UNBLOCK-A-DRAIN every 6 months to check and clean the drains.
We highly recommend this company for their work ethic and the care they take to make sure the job is done properly first time round, without ripping you off!!!

thanks for the info, that's the advantage of paying community fees, please could you post the name of the Specialist company who was first used, so to avoid anyone requiring there incomplete service, although saying that ,if the president just ask them to unblock the toilet and they did, they did what was asked, perhaps the president should have asked them to investigate the reason why the toilet was blocked, what was the difference in price ,from the first company to UNBLOCK-A-DRAIN please,

We had a very good experience with Unblock-A-Rod in 2018 when Graham and Craig immediately came round to help us with emergency serious flooding issues when there was no response from HiDRAQUA, the police or the local council.

For that reason I recently gladly contacted them again about a blocked bathroom pipe. I was told that the first hour costs a fixed price of €90.- (which includes the call out costs) and, if the work would take longer, they would discuss it with us first and then every additional hour would cost €60.- each. We thought that the job would take much less than an hour to complete. As they wouldn't reduce the price for a shorter call, we decided to ask them to look at a two other drainage issues we have been having. Unfortunately Graham and Craig did not come as we were led to believe from our prior email exchange but three other gentlemen (two would have sufficed). They charged in and out of our home with their equipment not taking any care of the walls and leaving marks behind. When they left, the bathroom was in a mess and they did not make any attempt to clean up after themselves. They successfully unblocked the pipe under the bathroom sink. However they were not able to improve the drainage of the water from the shower. So we are still left with that problem. They were at our home for less than an hour. When it was payment time, they suddenly asked for €120.- even though we had agreed to €90.- and they were here for less than an hour and they had no idea how to resolve the shower drainage issue. Rather a cheek we found. We will not be consulting this company again. On their website they refer to their employees as "engineers". The three gentlemen who showed up certainly did not appear to be qualified engineers in our opinion. That is simply misleading.

When I contacted the company concerning the above issues, initially I didn't receive a reply. They were very quick off the mark when I contacted them for an appointment. So I wrote a second time. Then I received a poor reply which didn't even mention the way they had tried to rip us off and informing us that we didn't have to pay for the third (superfluous) gentleman who was on a day's training! I was also informed that "they do try to clean up" after themselves but they made no attempt to do so whatsoever.

I’m President of a community on Entre Naranjos and have personally dealt with the company for 5 years as did previous Presidents. Indeed Entre Naranjos has around 19 separate communities most use this company and I’ve had no bad experiences with them nor heard of any.
I can only assume yours was an odd experience I’d suggest talking to the lady owner directly who may help
