water leak

Good day All,

I am away and noted my water bill just jumped by 250 euros this month and not being there suspect severe water leak somewhere.

I will be coming in two days but any suggestion of a competent person or company to line up upon my arrival. I am in El chaparral, Torrevieja.

Do you not turn the water off when you leave?

After all the leaks we’ve had we check our meter every few days to see if the dial is not moving. We also turn it off if we go away. We were also told that during the summer because of all the extra visitors and people staying that the water company put up the pressure causing pipes and fittings to split or come apart and fail.

If you're turned off immediately at your side of the meter, and there is always a tap there - or should be! - the pipes can burst where they want to but any losses of water will cannot be charged to you.
