Just seen this:-

After our recent visit to the foreign office we have the following important information for you:

Update for TIE Cards Issued Incorrectly

For those of you who have obtained a new TIE card stating, "family member of an EU national", the foreign office has today confirmed that no action need be taken.

The foreign registry does indeed display your rights to reside as an individual correctly and this misprint on the physical card does not affect them.

Officials there have informed us that no new cards will be issued until the renewal of said cards is due, at which point the old card will be replaced with a new one displaying the correct rights.

This may seem like a bit of an anticlimactic solution posed by the foreign office, but after we checked and confirmed that the registry itself does contain the correct details, we are relatively satisfied.

‼️ Requirement of a Padrón for New and Existing Applicants ‼️

Recently we have had a few issues with addresses when at the foreign office with our clients. This has come up for various reasons such as postal address changes over the years as assigned by Correos or the town halls, incorrect data entry at the time of customers original registration with the foreign office or simply a misunderstanding between building and door numbers.

It has come as no surprise that in our recent appointments, staff have asked people for a Padrón, regardless of whether the person in question has changed address or not.

Also Important: Initial applicants who have already presented their Padrón in the first stage of the TIE process, may be asked to present it again in stage two of the process, so please bear this in mind.
