Non residency tax - advice needed please!
Non residency tax - advice needed please!
by jankw » Tue Nov 22, 2016 1:41 pm
Hi
We have been advised by the law firm that dealt with our house purchase in spain that the non resident tax on our Spanish property is due. They want to charge a 100 euro fee which is more than the actual tax! Is this difficult to do yourself? We live in El Galan which comes under san miguel de salinas. The property is both mine and my husbands names and we don't rent out the property.
Any advice would be much appreciated
Many thanks
Jan

It's a good price for two people including IVA.

You can do it yourself. The Agencia Tributaria has a website (in English) on how to complete the Form 210. €100 for one form seems excessive. Advoco solicitors charge €50 and a UK based company is advertising it for £29.50.
We pay our solicitors €150 (ish) a year and everything is done for us at that price including income tax returns (for 2 of us), all taxes, any problems, submitting foreign assets returns etc. So €100 for just one form seems a lot.

Thanks for that info Marcliffe. We had heard you can do it yourself but we have always paid someone to do it for us. Is it easy to do?
Happy in the sun.

I found it quite easy after I found this document:
www.citizensadvice.org.es/wp-content/up ... DENTS1.pdf
I completed the forms on line printed them out (and saved a copy for next year) took the completed forms to my bank (Bankinter) who made the payment direct from our account without charge.

The Agencia Tributaria site (click here) is in English and gives instruction on how to complete form 210.

We use Spanish Rax Forms a company which compile your forms, send them to you and then you take these to the bank to pay, for this the charge is £29.50 per property. if you can't get to the bank they will do this for you for an extra fee. Find them on the web, it's very simple and efficient, can't recommend them enough!
