After speaking with a gestor recently (I am in the UK at present), he has told me to "take a look at this", it was a form / application for a Non Lucrative Visa, not sure why he's mentioned this to me, but my understanding is, that I have to apply for residencia from within the UK prior to coming to Spain to live. I am not 100% on this and it's all a bit ambiguous , even the Spanish embassy website in UK is not very clear and most of it is in English. Can anybody help or suggest the way forward or if anyone has gone through or is going through this process, what we have to do to make the pieces fit? According to what bits I can understand, we have to have a CRB check (not made clear if it's basic or enhanced), we need a medical certificate from our Drs (within 3 months of application) plus various other hoops to jump through. Any facts rather than opinions would be most welcome. Thanks.

Two years ago I had to have the enhanced police certificate because I had a Staffy the certificate cost me £47.00 then I had to have it rubber stamped by a court official cost €65.00. Good luck!

Applications for the non lucrative visa need to be started while still in the UK.

The info' and application forms are within this link.... http://www.exteriores.gob.es/Consulados/LONDRES/en/Consulado/Pages/Visas.aspx

You might be better off making the appointment when you're sure that you will be able to travel to Spain as the 2nd stage of the application has to be started within 1 month.

At the moment UK residents are not allowed to travel without good reason, France has 30% of the country in lock down and Spain will only allow Spanish citizens and residents into the country.
