Replacement TIE Card/Driving licence

Replacement TIE Card/Driving licence

Postby toffeeapple » Tue Jul 19, 2022 6:35 pm

Can anyone help.

Whilst away over the weekend I had my purse stolen with all my ID in there.

So they now all need replacing.

Has anyone applied for a replacement TIE card themselves and is it easy enough to do? Also driving licence as well.

Tia

Don't forget that you MUST inform the Guardia for licence and TIE as you will need a crime number to reapply. My mother in law has just gone through this.

Easier to say you just lost them!

When you get the replacements colour photocopy and laminate them and leave the originals safely at home.

If you install the MiDGT app you won't need to carry your licence at all as it's incorporated in it and legally valid in that form, similarly your car documents.

I was informed that you should have the originals on you.

Notarised photo copies are legal.

True but on the ground copies are acceptable, police can immediately check online if in doubt.

I say again your driving licence and car documents are incorporated in the MiDGT app and are 100% legally valid in that format.

The app looks great and as you say, makes perfect sense but I’m finding it impossible to register on the app. After filling in all details to get a PIN number, it says ‘phone number not registered’.

Can’t find any way of registering my phone number with DGT. Also tried getting a ‘clave’ but that looks almost impossible.
