We are looking to start our residencia application from here in the UK towards the back end of his year. Just wanted to ask if fingerprints were required for all applications or are there any mitigating circumstances for this request i.e. not having been in the country for years etc.? Thanks

The finger prints are needed for the TIA residencia card. Best to put your name down with either Expats, round corner to Euromarina where Sabadell bank has just closed down or One Way Services, if coming through arches, come up to roundabout branch left and follow road round keeping left. Office at bottom on right. You may have to wait a few weeks, then follow them up to Alicante, or go with them, we chose to go in our own car, plenty of parking. Takes another ten weeks waiting for card, then another trip back to pick up.

As you’ll be looking at a visa before you enter Spain, I expect fingerprints aren’t required. Probably not until you apply for residence after you get here.
