TIE - Padron renewal issue

TIE - Padron renewal issue

Postby Angela17 » Sun Feb 14, 2021 1:28 pm

I've finally got an appt in Alicante to replace my green residencia card to a TIE.

The issue I have is that my Padron needs updating and I can only get an appt in Rojales from Tuesday, but my TIE appt in Alicante is first thing Tuesday morning.

Does anyone have any suggestions how I can get around this please? I believe you can get a padron online but not sure how to do this.

Some people have used an out of date padron and its been accepted, depends on the day. Maybe try and go to the "Lady under the stairs" tomorrow and explain the situation and she may do it for you there and then ? if she can't help you I'd take my chances with my old one and see what happens.

If you are replacing the green registro residency for a TIE on the EX23 then you do not need a padron if the address on the registro card is the same as the one you are applying for.

It's only if you have changed address or are applying for initial residency with the EX20 that you need the padron certificate.

Ah great news, thank you. We haven't changed our address so it's the correct one on our green residencia cards. Phew!

Many thanks, panic over.

My agent insisted I needed a new padron, despite living at the same place for 17 years. Duly made appointment and received a new one. Alicante didn't even ask to see it!

Thank you all for your advice.

I did attend Rojales town hall this morning without an appt and explained my situation. They did, as a one-off, issue me a new padron. Knowning I've waited this long for my appt I would rather take one just in case!

You're very lucky with your council, so different to ours. That would never happen in Tory.

To be fair, Torrevieja has a population four or five times greater than Rojales. It’s a shame that we can’t just pop in nowadays; although we could a few years ago when I first registered on padrón.
